The Pro Feeder has arrived and is now available. This new H2O product is said to be every bow man’s dream and means no more chewing cloth - Holt’s Solution to luff tape cluster genoa disasters will prevent the luff tape of the jib getting jumbled and jammed in the hoist - no more bare-headed leeward mark rounding, smooth fast and faultless hoists The Pro Feeder is already flying out of chandlery doors and will be an essential bit of kit for the Easter racing schedules.
The Pro Feeder is made of 316 stainless steel and like other similar products, has a catch and a hinge that means it can be opened easily with a quick positive tug when required. It has rolling balls to reduce friction and aid in the smooth running of hoists and drops.
This product is designed with real time racing in mind where a cluster disaster can cost the race– if the luff is in trouble the pull piston action requires a simple strong tug – the piston is out of the way of the luff and therefore easier to open than other feeders. The hinge on this pro feeder is offset from the centre line – this mean the bowman can lash it to or around the forestay. It is larger than other feeders and the roller balls were brought closer together after testing so it will now take a luff tape size from Mum30 (4mm) to Volvo 70 (7mm).
